Also, I think there are some good aspects to the venture capitalists having flown the coop; they seemed to inspire more greed in EDA than innovation. Very few start-ups popped up that didn't fit the "VC safe" mold. Without the VCs, there's no free rides, so now it's innovate or die! Ok, now I understand.
